The Winter Festival at Grand Hotel Union impressed the music lovers

The first to perform was violinist Nigel Kennedy, who debuted at Carnegie Hall at the age of 16. Later he achieved worldwide fame with one of the best-selling classical music albums of all time, his recording of Vivaldi's Four Seasons. The New Swing Quartet filled up the acoustic hall with gospel music spiced up with a modern touch. The night was dedicated to the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the ever-popular Slovenian quartet. On Valentine’s day we were honoured to host the tenor Ramón Vargas, a regular guest of renowned opera houses, such as Teatro alla Scala in Milan, The Royal Opera House in London, and the Vienna State Opera. The world-renowned tenor was joined by one of the most promising voices on the global opera scene the soprano Elvira Hasanagić, alongside the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra conducted by the Argentinian maestro Facundo Agudin.
